It’s like you’re inside my head! I’m part relieved that I’m not the only one that feels like this but also part shocked that someone with your talent also feels the same. Your content is so relatable that a podcast would be so fitting. I love reading your substacks so no doubt your book will be just as enjoyable. X

You are so lovely to share such kind words 😊 I think for me, it comes from feeling like I’m speaking into the void a lot of the time. Especially here on Substack where I’m working hard to build a readership but you have no idea when you hit publish if your words will hit home. It’s always so nice to hear that these experiences are relatable! Thank you x

Sooo relatable Ash! This resonated so deeply “But the ‘passion projects’ that swirl constantly in my mind feel at once too big and too lofty to grasp—I don’t feel armed with the skills or space to execute them and so often, I do nothing.”

Love love love you shared your ideas/ passion projects - one day there is no doubt in my mind I will have one of your books sitting proudly on my shelf. X

Sometimes the little act of sharing your imposter thoughts is what you need to realize how unrealistic they are.

Working as a Marketing Manager at a company I have faced the syndrome many times. A mechanism I found that works for me is to change the focus of my inner conversation from me to others, meaning that I may at that moment doubt from my abilities but there’s another professional that I believe is good, that wants de best for the company, etc. that for some reason chose ME from infinite other options. So if I don’t fully trust myself at the moment at least I try to focus on trusting those who trust in me…does that make sense? 😅 not the best mechanism for sure, but works to stop the spiral of negative thoughts sometimes.

Love this idea of reframing 🙌 and I think you’re right, once these feelings are shared, they feel less destructive!

Gosh, I really needed to hear this. Thank you. I love how you included the ideas that are whispering to you, how to channel your creativity, etc. Once they breathe a little, perhaps the path will be clear.

Thank you for reading! I think imposter syndrome is something we can all identify with—but it's nice to know that we are not alone in the experience. And I hope you're right... with a little fresh air and space, hopefully the ideas will begin to blossom x

I'm so thrilled you found this piece and that it has given you the confidence to push forward. We are our own worst enemies at times and despite everything, I still have so many moments when I question my capabilities. Good luck! Make sure you share a link when your own project is ready to be enjoyed x
